If you know me personally you already know that I don’t wear make up on a regular basis. May be just a little here and there, on festivals or for parties and that’s pretty much it.
I never had any problem with breakouts or acne until a few months back when we moved here to Qatar. Gradually I started getting a pimple here or a pimple there. That could be because of the hot weather here or may be due to the stress of running a household, a blog and behind two active little girls.
Now a little into my skincare routine, honestly I never had a ‘routine’ of any sort. As I never had any issues with my skin, just a facewash and a moisturizer was enough for survival. But now that things, have quite changed, I started exploring different skincare routines before settling for what worked best for my skin. I felt the need to see what my skin likes and dislikes. And this was the first product I started using a couple of few months ago. And here I share my experience with you. I hope it helps you.
First things first, when I sat down and researched a bit about the brand DermoViva and I noticed that they have to different text printed on different packaging of the same product. One package says it’s by Vatika and another that doesn’t have the name ‘Vatika’ printed anywhere on it. I was a little confused in the beginning. But I stopped caring because I quite started liking the product.
DermoViva has a range of products that are all formulated especially for the women in Middle East, keeping in mind the hot weather conditions here. There products are tested in German laboratories.

Packaging:
In all honestly, the packaging was what attracted me. NO! It’s not the cutest of the packagings I have ever seen. But the tube is in white and green colour, going by which I thought it would be more of a ‘natural product’. *sigh* I was wrong! ( Lesson #1. Never buy products based on their packaging)

Like all the scrubs, it’s semi-liquidy and grainy. The granules help in gently exfoliating, which is what is expected of a scrub..isn’t it? It has strong smell, with a hint of lime and grapes.

My experience with DermoViva Face Scrub:
I have been using this for over a month now. I use this once in a week to exfoliate my face. I have combination to oily and very sensitive skin, which is why I chose this scrub.
I have been meaning to try products with Tea Tree as their main ingredient. I love the way it removes all the dead cells, but sometimes I feel the granules are a bit too harsh for facial skin. The product leaves my skin smelling and felling fresh. It does make my skin feel a bit over dry and tight, which I don’t like.
Some people can be allergic to tea tree extracts. So it’s always advised to begin with very small amount of product and then gradually increase the quantity as you go. That’s how I did it.
In the first week of usage, I used a very tiny amount of product. Then on I kept increasing it, now I use coin-sized amount of the product. And I think it will last me at least another two months. So if you like it, then it definitely a good value for your money.
Pros of DermoViva Face Scrub:
- Smells good
- contains tea tree extracts as main ingredient
- Exfoliates well.
Cons of DermoViva Face Scrub:
- Granules are a bit too harsh on facial skin.
- Dries my skin out.
- Leaves my skin feeling very tight.
- Not available easily.
Will I repurchase DermoViva Face Scrub:
No, I won’t be repurchasing this. I like other scrubs more. Also I’m more into natural products these days so I’m going to finish off this tube and invest in something else that’s better value of my money.
