Painting is one activity most of the parents, do necessarily want their children to indulge in. For one obvious reason that is can get extremely messy. But it’s nice to let them have their share of fun once in a while. So this evening we did this very simple activity with the supplies we had at home (I know I say this always but I can’t help). And if you want to do this activity with your children,
What we used:
- Paper
- Paints
- Paint palette (Optional)
- Crayons
- Empty toilet paper roll
- Scissors
- Sticky tape
What we did:
First I drew out the trunk and branches with a crayon. You could alternatively use paints.
Then I grabbed the empty toilet paper roll, cut it small to make an oval out of it and attached the ends with sticky tape. As shown in the picture below.
Then I poured in some green paint into the palette and let my children stamp leaves on the paper. And that’s pretty much it.
Later on, we did some leaves in yellow colour as well, because The Big Thing says, she says she saw some yellow leaves at the park, the other day. 🙂 .
And this is what it looked like when we finished it. Definitely it isn’t the most beautiful of the artworks you might have even seen but then it’s coming from a two and a four year old children. It’s truly a fun and simple way to let imaginations fly.
